About the Course

This is a college course titled "Natural and Social History of Eastern Australia".  Eighteen students and two professors from a small liberal arts college in upstate New York, are spending 26 days travelling through Australia studying culture, society, natural history and the environment.

Our travels take us from Sydney and the Blue Mountains to Brisbane and Moreton Island.  From there we move on to Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rain forest followed by Alice Springs and four days of camping in the Red Center.  Our travels end in Sydney after which we fly back to the United States.

This blog will record our observations and experiences.
